Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Wiesner (Weez·ner)

Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey didn’t start with me knowing immediately what I wanted to do in life. While others had a 10 year plan already I didn’t know what I wanted to do tomorrow, it was overwhelming. How do you pick something you’re going to dedicate your whole life too? I knew I had a passion for basketball so I played college and eventually some pro before having my Son. I knew I had a solid foundation because of my upbringing as an athlete which attributed to my competitive spirit and my dedicated and disciplined work ethic. But I still didn’t have a pin-point direction.
Sports was my life, and studying sports medicine seemed like the perfect way to stay connected to the world I loved. However, as I sat in class surrounded by classmates eager to specialize in sports medicine, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of confusion. I was a 4.0 student, I understood the material and liked it, but I didn’t have the passion for it. I knew I would eventually be competing with my classmates for job opportunities and I saw that it wasn’t for me.
Then, life took an unexpected turn. A tragic event shook me to my core. It was a pivotal moment that pushed me to make a bold decision – I veered away from sports medicine and changed my major to communications, focusing on visual design and video production. I had dabbled in graphic design as a hobby since I was young, but now I wanted to pursue it wholeheartedly.
As I immersed myself in the study of communications and graphic design, I discovered a new sense of passion and purpose. It was as if I had finally found my calling, and I pursued it with unwavering determination. Graduating with honors, I combined my knowledge of communications, graphic design, and video production to embark on a professional journey.
At first, I focused on graphic design, but over time, I expanded my expertise to become an asset to any team I joined and to have a full understanding of all the divisions of my craft. I delved into web design, photography, data analytics, and user experience, eager to grasp the intricacies of the industry. With over 11 years of work experience spanning different industries like oil & gas, government, news/media, and professional sports, I felt empowered to take the leap and establish my own business, Motivisualz.
Starting my own venture has been far from easy, but the rewards have been immeasurable. I am grateful for every moment, knowing that the hand of God has guided me throughout this incredible journey. My path was shaped not only by my love for sports but also by the fascination I had as a child with capturing moments through photography. Disposable cameras on road trips ignited a spark in me – the ability to freeze time and make memories last forever. Moreover, my passion for design was nurtured by my mother’s creativity. I would spend hours with her as she meticulously crafted photo albums, cutting out pictures, adding captions, and designing beautiful layouts. Little did I know that these moments would lay the foundation for my future endeavors.
Today, as a constant creator and a creative director, I am fully aware of the power that content holds. It has the potential to move individuals, nations, and even the world. With this responsibility in mind, I strive to create content that brings light, inspires, and motivates.
Reflecting on my journey, I am humbled by the places I’ve been and the people I’ve met. It is a testament to the power of faith and determination. There are tough days when the desire to give up creeps in, but on the other side of those challenges await moments filled with excitement, passion, and unbridled joy. Today I work with several clients who have the same goal and purpose, to motivate, inspire and be a light.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?It has not been a smooth road but every bump has been worth the trouble because a lesson was always learned. Each upset or hurdle has elevated me personally and my business. My biggest struggle was understanding my worth. My greatest strength through it all…GOD.
